Project One for One

If there are people in the world who are impoverished, if they are hurting, if we believe that a primary focus of humanity should be to serve with a compassionate, humble heart, why don’t we help?

Our business model is simple: For every project Sage Harbor funds, we will match by funding a project in a developing country. One for One.

Through our partnerships with varying charities including Outreach International and Free the Children, Sage Harbor is provided opportunities to impact the lives of the poorest of the poor. We take a holistic approach to this endeavor. Although every community would benefit from the construction of a new school house or medical facility, we rely on our partners to provide the underlying story in every area we touch. What are their primary needs? If a project is funded, what impact would this make on an individual, family, or community? We take the same approach to our One for One projects as we would for our investments - If it makes sense, if the benefits far outweigh the costs, if it’s the right thing to do, we do it.

History

The One for One concept was recently made popular by Blake Mycoskie, founder of TOMS Shoes. TOMS was founded under the simple premise: For every pair of shoes you purchase, they will give a pair of shoes to a child in need. Since their beginning, TOMS has given over 140,000 pairs of shoes to children in need through the One for One model.

If Blake can do it, why can’t we?

For Our Investors

It is important to understand that although your investment dollars do not directly fund our One for One projects, they play a dynamic role in the entire process. Our goal as a Sage Harbor team is to provide the highest quality investments to you, our investors. This said, the higher quality investments available to you, the greater impact we make through this initiative.

How can you stay informed of specific One for One projects?

Every One for One project is unique to the projects we fund through Sage Harbor. From re-roofing homes to building a clean water facility, the One for One projects are hand selected based on the most immediate community need coupled with the resources available to Sage Harbor. When you are notified of investment opportunities, information about the resulting One for One project is available upon request. In addition, we will produce a newsletter which provides details about recent One for One projects including personal stories related to the individuals who are directly impacted by our projects. Although it is not our intention to boast about the One for One initiative, we understand that because your investment dollars affect more than just a single investment opportunity, you will likely want to be kept informed about the positive difference it had a hand in making.

For our Borrowers and Equity Partners

We believe that the most successful endeavors are often achieved by seeking to serve first. Although any for-profit organization has obvious obligations to their stakeholders, when we are able to effect change while remaining profitable it’s a win-win.

As seasoned real estate professionals, we understand the blood, sweat, and tears that goes into your projects. Because of your efforts, we would like to extend an invitation to join our initiative. Although a financial contribution is not required nor expected, we feel it is important for you to have a hand in selecting the resulting One for One project if you so desire.

How can you help?

Project One for One is an initiative solely funded by Sage Harbor profits. We do understand, however, that giving can be contagious. If you are interested in making an additional contribution to this endeavor through partnerships or donations, please feel free to contact us at the number below. In addition, if you have a specific cause that you feel would be a good fit for our One for One model, we would be happy to learn more.
